Exploration Station

Today room 6 had their first session with Mrs Lee in the Exploration Station (room 12). We had an amazing time beginning to learn about how to keep ourselves safe and strong online and how to be helpful and smart.

Our first activity to help get us thinking about online safety was to write down two facts about ourselves and then place them under safe to share online or not safe to share online. We had some interesting discussions about some of the items we shared.

Mrs Lee has also made an incredible website to help teach us about digital citizenship called Shine Online. Check it out here.

AND if you ever need help or advice outside of school on how to stay safe and strong online you can always check out Netsafe NZ. This website has a lot of useful information to help keep families and students safe online.

Safe and Strong Online

Continuing on from our amazing lesson with Mrs Lee in the Exploration Station, we have been working on our projects to share our knowledge on how to be safe and strong online. It is so important that we are aware of the dangers that could happen and what we can do if we don't feel safe. We really love coming into the Exploration Station where we can create games online with Scratch, film videos with our friends and make wonderful models and game boards. Rebecca and Danielle have already created and completed a video showing what they know about being safe and strong online. Check it out below.
