We have been working hard in room 6 to complete our amazing cushion art and we hope that you come and take a look during three way conferences! See you in the hall soon.

Sneak Peak

In Room 6, we have been working extremely hard learning how to sew. This is such a hard skill to master but I think we have been doing a fantastic job. We can't wait to show you our completed art in the hall during the three way conferences!

Getting Ready for Three Way Conferences

Image
On Monday, we looked back at some of the amazing things we have been learning and achieving in room 6 in term 2. Miss Stuhlmann wrote most of our learning intentions on the board (she ran out of room for all of them) and we reflected on how well we did at each of those learning goals. We have started thinking about some of our work that we would like to share with our parents and put our Sunnyhills Share and Shine GEM to light during the three way conferences. We can't wait! Hope you have booked a time for your interview!

Learning New Skills And Getting Ready For Arts Week

Image
We are so excited to be working on our cultural cushions to display during week 9. We have done a lot of research into cultural patterns and good luck symbols from around the world. We also worked on our sketching skills designing what our cushions will look like when we are finished. We are learning how to sew to be able to make our cushions. The basic stitches that we have learnt are; back stitch, cross stitch, running stitch, blanket stitch and whip stitch. We will definitely be able to help with sewing buttons onto shirts after this! Check out some of the cushions we are working on.

Learning Long Division

Image
The Rectangles math group has begun to learn how to use long division to solve division problems. We worked on the mat today and discussed how we can make dividing as easy as possible. We know that the first step is to be able to take away the biggest tidy chunk by using our multiplication facts. After that, we know that we can keep doing this until we get to a number that is in our basic facts knowledge. We also know that we need to record how many times the number we are dividing by goes into the number under the division symbol on top of the division symbol. Check out our awesome working out.

Where in the world do our visitors come from?
